The semester is finally coming to an end and the PIM&CEMS Club is looking forward to celebrating with you! The club is inviting you to take part for FREE in our inaugurational online beer pong tournament!
Taking place in living rooms across Cologne, Germany and beyond, this tournament is for anyone willing to play and offers the chance to win surprise trophies for the top three teams.
Pairing up in teams of two (as per COVID-regulation), please register per Google Form! – If you think you can conquer the tournament unassisted, feel free to sign up solo! If you simply wish to watch and chat, feel free to drop by as well. Please sign up with your team constellation via this link by 18 February 11pm!
The tournament will take place via Zoom. Please sign up to Zoom with your team name. Teams will be sorted into groups to ensure everyone gets to play a certain minimum number of games! Join the tournament showdown through this link.
Each group will be divided into breakout rooms that you will be free to jump between. We will track the results and make them accessible live online (link tbd). At the end of games, you will report your winner (and scores!) to us in the main session to keep track of game progress.
Experience has shown that it is easiest to communicate and see hits if the laptop is placed behind the solo cups you are throwing into – if you keep it on speaker, you have the added benefit of trash talking your opponent ;)
For any additional questions, check the FAQ below or the rulebook. We are looking forward to celebrating with all of you!!
FAQ:
What can we win? – That’s a surprise!
What do I need? – You will need beer, red solo cups, ping-pong balls, a (beer pong) table and a laptop or phone.
How many teams can participate? – There will be a maximum of 128 teams.
I don’t have X. Where can I get...
Beer? – Whoever is your trusted beer distributor!
Cups? – Easiest would be if you could purchase them at your preferred supermarket (e.g. Real) or online. Also the Club will offer you to collect the needed amount of cups for a small fee at our Clubroom. If you like to use the club-solution, please mention it within your resgistration-mail!
Ping-pong balls? – Again purchasing them on your own would be best. But the Club will also provide a few ping-pong balls free of charge to anyone who does not have them at home (together with the Cups).
A beer pong table? – A regulation size beer pong table will not be necessary as per the rulebook. Instead, you will be able to use a regular table and tape a line on the ground that you will not surpass when throwing.
Is there a referee? – No. To ensure hits are legitimate, the ball should be visible for the opposing team for the entire duration of its flight. Beyond that, this tournament is built on a trust system. We hope everyone will be fair and measure their distances correctly, etc.
