About the week
Housing
During the week you will be hosted by students and active members of our student organization. These hosts were all selected by us and are more than happy to create warm and welcome living arrangements for you. They will most likely all participate in our activities, so it’s a great opportunity to get to know them a bit more!
Company visits
Of course, the week can’t all be partying late night and enjoying the foods. We will also visit several companies. One of the companies is actually the oldest airline company in the world! You will be shown were the airplanes are actually built in the hangars and what’s behind the scenes when you are many feet up in the air!
Amsterdam versus Rotterdam
You will be given the great opportunity to not only see one, but two of the biggest cities that Holland has to offer. Amsterdam, with a rich history and her famous canals. Rotterdam, a city maybe not that famous outside of Holland. Rotterdam was actually completely destroyed during WW2. Because of this the whole city had to be rebuilt and is now one of the most modern cities within Europe! It has one of Europe’s biggest harbors and is the beginning of many cargo routes with destinations all over the world. You will get to see and experience everything, including the big Euromast!
Night Life
Now this is where the fun part starts! Sight-seeing, visits and historic hot spots are great and all, but students in the Netherlands can throw parties like no others can. You will be doing a pub-crawl in Amsterdam’s most popular night life destination. We will throw you your own themed house party at one of committee’s members house!
Kingsday
We saved the best for last, this is going to be a day you will NEVER forget. And we mean NEVER. Kingsday in the Netherlands is one of the craziest days of the year. It all started years ago, when the whole country celebrated the king’s or queen’s birthday. Over the years it got to be one of the most important days of the year. The whole country will turn to one crazy orange party, all day, all night long. It doesn’t matter if you’re 3-years old or already reaching the age of 82, everyone is participating. We can’t stretch this enough, you need to experience this!
